To find how many plants you will need for your project:
  • Determine the total sq. footage of your planting area (length and width)
  • Find the plant spacing you are going to use on the chart (Planting on Center)
  • Take the corresponding number of plants per sq. foot and multiply that by the total sq. footage of the area you are planting to give you the number of plants you will need.
spacer
For example: Your planting area is 10 ft by 3 ft and you are going to use 6" spacing. Multiply 10 ft x 3 ft to get your total square footage (30 sq. feet). Look on the chart under Planting on Center to 6". Take the corresponding plants per square foot (4) and multiply that by your total planting area (30 sq. feet). The total number of 6" plants you will need (4 x 30) is 120.
